The kittens
came to us like this: One day
while dropping the kids off at school
(which happens to be a parish school) I
noticed a box which was sitting on the
curb near the church entrance. Being
very curious, I walked over to the box
as I called the rectory office to let
them know that Alqaeda had planted a
package on the curb outside the church
(which is always a popular joke with the
rectory secretary!) and that I would
bring it in to them for disarming
(should they wish to call the bomb
squad.) As I got to the box and
lifted the flaps, I discovered 6 little
faces staring back at me! What a
shock!
To make the
story short, two kittens found homes
with school families; one kitten went to
our good friends Audra & Don Wake; one
went to Lollie's mom Susan and two
joined the Hopkins family. The two we
kept are Linus & Lucy.
They have since tripled in size and are
doing great! As of 03/05/2006 they
have both been spayed & neutered and are
a furry little comedy show attacking
each other (in play) all over our house.
We get regular visits from Tortoise
(Susan's kitten) when Susan is here for
the day. Lucy & Tortoise went to the
Spay clinic together. |
